Great Migrations
Move as millions, survive as one. That is the subtitle to the new seven-part television series from National Geographic called "Great Migrations". Animals great and small are on the move around the world, chasing resources in dangerous journeys that might take mere hours or span generations. To capture the images and video for the series, they spent two and a half years in the field, traveling 420,000 miles across 20 countries and all seven continents. The fine folks at National Geographic have been kind enough to share with us some images from "Great Migrations: Official Companion Book" below. Great Migrations premieres in the U.S. on Sunday, November 7 on the National Geographic Channel. (29 photos total)

The whole world is built on lies
I have lived long enough now to observe some things about truth and lies.
One thing that I really react to is that we teach our children not to lie but we at the same time make them believe in lies. Let me explain.
You tell your little boy to tell the truth about the broken window. He kicked a ball through it an he is scared now. He realize that there is a punishment coming up. So he says: "I did not do it! It was other bad boys who did it!"
You answer, ok - but why is it your ball then? Again he looks guilty and says: I don´t know!
This situation is not unrealistic or even uncommon. We all have been there - right? But WHO tought your child to lie? WHO put in his head to say a white lie, a black lie or even a big lie? I tell you - his parents and other adults in his life did.
Did you teach him that Santa Claus exist? Did you tell him that the tooth fairy comes to take his tooth under the pillow? Who told him that there are trolls, people who can fly like Superman? Where did he hear that when Grampa died he turned into a star that is looking down on us.
You see - one day he will find out that these stories were lies. You decieved him and you of all people lied to him. So if anybody must be blamed - blame yourself.
There are no WHITE lies because they are ALL LIES!
To my horror I have noticed that you TV and Movies and Computer games lately, there are a pouring hard rain of Vampires and Trolls and Witches. They are coming one by one or in crowds. They are so popular so you dont even concider to not let your child look. They will be fooled, lied to and twisted pretty quickly.
People look at these movies and make the actors their idols. This is really dangerous for a child to see. Mom and Dad should be the relaiable ones that never tell a lie and always teach the truth about things. Tell them that vampires dont exist. Tell them that trolls are not real! Witches can be dangerous in real life and fairys do not dance in the sunrise.
So at last I want to go back to the little guy in the beginning of this post. WHEN - I dont say IF - your child really tell the truth, commend it. Say that it was bold and right of them to admit. Do not be angry at this time, but of course there could be a reason to give a punishment when you have cooled offf a bit!
